In the afternoon of September 22, the local time in Turkey, the ceremony for the first concreting node of Shanghai Electric Power Hunutlu Coal-fired Thermal Power Plant Project was held at the construction site. Mahmut Demirtas, Governor of Adana Province, Turkey, Wang Yundan, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Shanghai Electric Power Co., Ltd., Huang Chen, Deputy General Manager of Shanghai Electric Power Co., Ltd. and Chairman of Turkey EMBA Power Generation Co., Ltd., Dai Sufeng, Deputy Chief Engineer of Shanghai Electric Power Co., Ltd., Mete BULGUN, General Manager of EMBA Power Generation Co., Ltd. and relevant representatives of the participating units attended the ceremony. Huang Daoyuan, Chairman of Henan D.R., and Cheng Cunpan, Deputy Chairman of Henan D.R., were invited to attend. Wang Chunling and Zhang Junfeng, Deputy General Manager of Henan D.R., Su Qunshan, Chief Engineer, Wang Zheng, Director of International Commerce, Gao Zhiqiang, Deputy Chief Engineer and Project Manager of Turkey Hunutlu Thermal Power Plant, Liu Qi, Vice Minister of Asset Finance Department also participated in the ceremony.
At the ceremony, Mr. Wang Yundan, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Shanghai Electric Power Co., Ltd. announced the order for pouring the first tank of concrete in the main plant and delivered an important speech. Wang Yundan pointed out that the Turkey Hunutlu Coal-fired Project is a key project combining China’s “Belt and Road” initiative and Turkey’s “Middle Corridor” initiative. It has been the biggest project directly invested by Chinese enterprises in Turkey since China and Turkey established diplomatic relations. It is also the first imported coal power project invested by Chinese company in Turkey. The smooth implementation of the project is of great significance for the operation and development of energy cooperation between China and Turkey, as well as the project investors and participating construction units. All parties should work together to make the Hunutlu Thermal Power Plant Project a Mediterranean Pearl Project.
Mr. Mahmut Demirtas, Governor of Adana Province, Adana, addressed the ceremony, hoping that the project would become a benchmark for Sino-Turkish investment cooperation. Meanwhile, he said that there would be vast potential for future development for Sino-Turkish cooperation.
After the ceremony, Chairman Wang Yundan and the guests visited the construction and processing area of the project department and the earthwork construction site in the eurosilo area. Chairman Wang spoke highly of the project department attaching great importance to the construction of the project and the construction efficiency with high standard on the site. He pointed that it is the first time to carry out eurosilo project and seawater exhaust chimney & cooling tower project in the bidding section both in China and Turkey. These two projects are the hardest nuts to crack in the construction of the whole plant. He believed that Henan D.R. would give full play to its own advantages and successfully complete the construction tasks.
Chairman Huang Daoyuan expressed sincere thanks to Chairman Wang Yundan, Deputy Chief Engineer Dai Sufeng, General Manager Mete BULGUN and other guests for their full recognition and high degree of trust given to the project department. With careful organization and high degree of construction, he promised to make the eurosilo and seawater exhaust chimney & cooling tower projects the highlight and benchmark of the whole plant, and successfully complete the construction work in this section.
Turkey Hunutlu Thermal Power Plant Project is another major strategic project constructed in the process of the group company's overseas development. With the pouring of the first tank of concrete in the main powerhouse of the power plant, the project will be fully under construction.
