On the morning of December 28, presided over by Luo Chuwen, General Manager of Huaneng Hainan Company, the groundbreaking ceremony of Huaneng Yangpu Natural Gas Cogeneration Newly Built Project undertaken by the Second Project Management Department of Henan D.R. was held. Yan Rencai, Deputy Director of Hainan Development and Reform Commission, Zhou Junping, Secretary of the Working Committee of Yangpu Economic Development Zone, Zhang Jin, Member of the Yangpu Economic Development Zone Working Committee and Deputy Director of the Management Committee, Li Xuezhong, Chairman of Huaneng Hainan Company, Zhang Junfeng and Feng Zhanguang, Deputy General Manager of Henan D.R. and other leaders attended the ceremony. Representatives of supervision units, equipment manufacturers and other related parties all participated in the ceremony.
At the ceremony, Zhou Lihui, General Manager of Huaneng Yangpu Thermal Power Company, introduced the basic situation of the project and asked the participating parties to follow the guidance of "Keep Safe, Fast, Excellent, Economical, and Low-Cost" to achieve the intended goal. On behalf of Henan D.R., Feng Zhanguang, Deputy General Manager and Manager of the Electric Power Business Department said that Henan D.R. attached great importance to the Huaneng Yangpu Thermal Power Project and would send the best project management team and construction team. Under the principle of careful organization, scientific management, standardized construction and safe production, Henan D.R. is bound to complete the project with high standard and quality. Carrying forward the momentum of “iron army”, Henan D.R. works to make Huaneng Yangpu Thermal Power Project a benchmark project of Huaneng Group and a typical project in Hainan, establish a good reputation in Hainan Province and satisfy the owner and the society.
Subsequently, Zhou Junping, Secretary of the Working Committee of Yangpu Development Zone, announced the official commencement of the project. Holding gold shovels, leaders present at the ceremony laid the foundation for the project together. The first tank of concrete was also successfully placed into the mold. The leaders then visited the concrete pouring site, and spoke highly of Henan D.R.’s ability in presenting a high-level construction site within a short period of time.
The Huaneng Yangpu Natural Gas Cogeneration Phase I Project is planned to construct two 460 MW gas-steam combined cycle cogeneration units with supporting heating pipe network. They are designed to have a gas supply capacity of 419 tons per hour, an annual heat supply of 10.38 million Gigabytes Jiao, and an annual power generation capacity of about 4 billion kWh. The first unit is planned to be put into operation in June 2022 and the other in August 2022. After the project is completed and put into operation, the power supply capacity of Yangpu area under extreme weather will be highly improved. It is equipped with the world's first gas flue gas 1000 tons/year gas carbon dioxide capture device to reduce the emission of pollutants such as ammonia gas, organic amines and nitrosamines to meet international environmental protection requirements. While providing safe, high-quality and economical heat energy for surrounding chemical companies, it can also provide integrated energy supply such as centralized cooling, compressed air, and demineralized water, which will lay a solid foundation in boosting the high-quality economic development of Yangpu area and promoting the construction of Hainan free trade port.
