On the afternoon of February 23, local time in Turkey, with the coordination among Turkey Hunutlu Power Plant Project Department of the Second Project Management Department, the owner and the main contractor, and under the help of Chinese Embassy in Turkey, Turkish medical staff went to the construction site to inoculate workers against COVID-2019. On that day, a total of 113 people were vaccinated.
"It’s Chinese vaccine. I feel assured. The pandemic is still raging in the world. It will be safer to have the jab. But we still need to strictly follow prevention measures and keep a healthy body. My families will be less worried about me back home!", a worker said.
Since the outbreak of the COVID-2019 pandemic in Turkey in 2020, the project team has carried out strict lockdown measures in the construction site and worked out a routine control scheme. Taking the relevant law of Turkey, environment outside the project and the construction site into consideration, the project team started the “Routine control measures after reopening”. Accordingly, the local people can emerge from restrictions, the Chinese workers still need to follow quarantine measures and the Chinese and local workers shall be split in different working areas. These measures have ensured safe production and done good in the pandemic prevention and control. No Chinese workers has ever got infected on the construction site. This has shown Henan D.R.’s strong sense of responsibility to the employees.
After this vaccination, a total of 238 workers are vaccinated against the COVID-2019 pandemic including those newly arrived workers who has been vaccinated back in China. The Chinese workers have been given a shot in the arm and become more confident in the following work. The safety of their life is further insured. This has provided a solid support for the realization of the goal of "Keeping Stable Work and Production, Realizing Construction Nodes".
At present, the main structure of 1# cooling tower and 3# Eurosilo are about to be completed. The construction of the first slab of the 2# cooling tower tube wall has started, and the steel structure hoisting work of the T2-T4 coal transfer station and the BC-4 steel trestle is in progress. Next, the project management team will adhere to the management philosophy of planning in advance, scientific organization, and overall planning to ensure the steady progress of subsequent construction nodes.
