Recently, the China Civil Engineering Society officially released the "Decision on Issuing the 19th Tien-yow Jeme Civil Engineering Prize" and the China Energy Suqian 2×660MW Unit Project undertaken by the Chimney & Cooling Tower Branch is among the winner list. Henan D.R. has recently won several national engineering quality awards including Lanban Prize, National High Quality Project Golden Award and China Installation Project High Quality Award, but it’s for the first time for Henan D.R. to win the Tien-yow Jeme Civil Engineering Prize, which is the highest honor for scientific and technological innovation in the field of civil engineering in China.
The Tien-yow Jeme Civil Engineering Prize is jointly established by China Civil Engineering Society and Beijing Tien-yow Jeme Civil Engineering Science and Technology Development Foundation. It is one of the national construction system engineering awards recognized by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and the highest honor for scientific and technological innovation of engineering construction in the field of civil engineering. Strict in project quantity, quality and procedure, the Tien-yow Jeme Civil Engineering Prize is selected once a year focusing on the technological innovation level of the project. It is also known as the "Oscar" award for its authority in the field of civil engineering.
The China Energy Suqian Project is located in Yangbei Town, Sucheng District, Suqian City, Jiangsu Province. This bidding section includes one 240m double-pipe FRP inner tube chimney, two 9000m2 natural ventilation cooling towers and other buildings. The completion and operation of this project has effectively alleviated and satisfied the electricity demand of Suqian’s economic and social development. It is the only and largest power plant to achieve unified distribution in Suqian.
In the process of project construction, the project team always plan in advance, take sample project as guidance and strictly control the process to ensure the high quality of the project and the completion of all milestones as scheduled. At the same time, the project team also actively carries out scientific and technological innovation and new technology application to obtain one national QC achievement, one national utility model patent, one provincial construction method and get several awards for the project including "Henan Construction Industry Green Construction Demonstration Project", "Henan Construction Industry New Technology Application Demonstration Project" and "China Electric Power High Quality Project".
The winning of the Tien-yow Jeme Civil Engineering Prize again demonstrates Henan D.R.'s strong strength in on-site construction management and technological innovation, and proves the correctness of the business philosophy of "customer first, quality-oriented" which has been long-held by Henan D.R..
