Recently, the three-dimensional traffic network - Pedestrian Bridge at the intersection of Jinsui Avenue and Xiner Street in Xinxiang undertaken by Datang Power Project Management Department of Henan D.R. has been successfully put into operation.
The pedestrian bridge project is located at the intersection of Jinsui Avenue and Xiner Street in Xinxiang City. With the main bridge crossing Jinsui Avenue and Xiner Street, the whole bridge is 369m long and 4.5m wide. The width of the stairway is 3.5m. The main bridge crossing Jinsui Avenue is about 77m long and that crossing the Xiner Street is 55m long. The four corners are connected by arc-shaped structure. The area is densely populated with Baolong City Plaza which is in operation at south side of the intersection, a characteristic commercial area of Hongqi District at the northeast side, Huilong Yangguangcheng Mingyuan residential block at the northwest side.
The overpass project is originally designed to be a comprehensive urban overhead passage integrating transportation, leisure and landscape. After completion, it will act as a demonstration project in the construction of pedestrian bridge in Xinxiang. The bridge has two characteristics: lighting and arc-shaped connection. In order to blending together with the surrounding buildings and landscapes, the bridge is decorated with a large amount of LED lights such as buried lights and line lights. With arc-shaped large-span cantilevered connecting beams connecting the bridge, the overall appearance of the overpass is shaped like a treasure vase. The bridge has eight staircases to connect the four sides. In addition, the surrounding area of the bridge is planted with high-end trees and shrubs including pine, white bark and other green plants and dotted with landscape stones to beautify the environment. Different flowers are also planted to show different landscapes in different seasons.
Since the start of the project, under the support of Xinxiang Municipal Government and the Municipal Housing and Urban-rural Development Bureau, the guidance of Henan D.R. and the coordination of various units, the project department has managed to overcome a series of difficulties like the shortage of funds, limited space, Covid-2019 prevention and control, heavy rain, complicated underground pipelines, and heavy traffic pressure. With careful organization and unified coordination, the project department successfully completed many important milestones of the project like underground pipeline relocation, pile foundation and foundation works, steel structure hoisting for the main bridge, paving and lighting. Finally, the pedestrian bridge was officially put into use on March 25, 2022. With the operation of the bridge, the surrounding traffic can be eased and the city image can also be improved.
