On the morning of March 19, the 14th Project Management Department of Henan D.R. held a foundation laying ceremony for the Huangling Mining Company 2×660MW power plant project. Wang Junying, Member of the Standing Committee of Yan'an Municipal Party Committee and Deputy Mayor, Meng Zhonghua, Secretary of Huangling County Party Committee, Yang Zhaoqian, Chairman of Shaanxi Coal Group, Lei Guisheng, Chairman of Huangling Mining Company, Yan Longguang, Deputy General Manager of Henan D.R., Zhao Shucheng, Deputy Chief Engineer and Manager of the14th Project Management Department, and leaders of relevant construction units attended the ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Lei Guisheng, Chairman of Huangling Mining Company.
At the ceremony, Lei Guisheng, Chairman of Huangling Mining Company, briefed the basic information of the project, and on behalf of the owner, expressed sincere thanks to the leaders and participating units at all levels who had been caring about and supporting the project, and emphasized that it should be a smart power plant with "low energy consumption, low pollution, low emissions", "high efficiency, high intelligence, and high benefit". Mr. Lei also asked all participating units to carefully plan and organize the work to ensure that both units could be put into production at the end of 2022.
Yan Longguang, Deputy General Manager of Henan D.R., delivered a speech on behalf of the participating units. Mr. Yan first expressed his warm congratulations to the successful start of the Huangling Mining Company 2×660MW power plant project. He said that Henan D.R. attached great importance to the Huangling Mining Power Plant project and would send an excellent project team who would fully carry forward the spirit of the "Central Plains Iron Army", strictly adhere to the project management policy of "trustworthiness, dedicated service, scientific organization, strict management, and meticulous construction". Henan D.R. would spare no effort to build it into a high quality project to satisfy the construction unit, leaders at all levels and all sectors of society.
Subsequently, Wang Junying, member of the Standing Committee of the Yan'an Municipal Party Committee and Deputy Mayor, announced the official commencement of the Huangling Mining Company 2×660MW power plant project. With gold shovels in hands, the leaders present jointly laid foundation for the project. At the same time, the first tank of concrete was smoothly placed into the mold. After the ceremony, they visited the concrete pouring site, and praised Henan D.R. for preparing a high-standard construction site within a short period of time.
It is said that it is an ultra-supercritical coal-fired unit with large capacity, high parameter and high efficiency built by Huangling Mining Company to implement the national strategy of "Sending the electricity from the west to the east" and accelerate the transformation and development of Yan'an's economic structure. It is a key project of Shaanxi "13th Five-Year Plan". It is also an important power source for the UHV DC transmission line from northern Shaanxi to Hubei. The construction period of the project is planned to be 26 months. After it is completed and put into operation, the annual power generation will reach 7.2 billion kWh, and it will provide more than 300 jobs for local residents. This will effectively alleviate the pressure on the outward transportation of high-quality thermal coal in Huangling mining area. Therefore, coal resources can be transformed locally and clean utilization can be realized. This has important economic and social benefits for the revitalization of the old revolutionary base in Yan'an.
