On the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan, the Gwadar Port Summit on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was held in the Gwadar Port Free Zone of Pakistan on July 5. Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong, Chief Minister of Balochistan Province Kamal, Minister of Planning, Development and Special Tasks Assad Omar, Pakistani Foreign Minister Kureishi, Chairman of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Affairs Bureau Asim, and other government officials attended the summit. Henan D.R. Chairman Huang Daoyuan was invited to attend the summit in Shanghai via video session and delivered a speech; Director and Deputy General Manager Zhang Junfeng accompanied the meeting; Deputy General Manager Zhang Guangfu and EPH Company Manager Jin Huan attended the meeting on-site in Gwadar Port, Pakistan.
During the summit, Prime Minister Imran Khan and his party inspected the construction of the Gwadar Port Free Zone, participated in the commencement ceremony of the North Free Zone, and interacted with Chinese investment companies via video at the meeting. Gwadar Port is one of the flagship projects of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Park Cooperation. It is highly valued by the governments of China and Pakistan. In particular, the relationship between China and Pakistan has continued to heat up recently. The Pakistani government attaches great importance to the construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and strongly supports the construction of the corridor zone, encourage China and Pakistan to develop in-depth industrial cooperation and introduce more incentives to attract Chinese companies to invest in industrial parks in Pakistan.
In his speech, Chairman Huang Daoyuan pointed out that the first phase of the EPH building materials factory in the Faisalabad M3 Industrial Park of Henan D.R. has been completed and put into production, and the "Easy House" products have begun to hit the market. In the next step, Henan D.R. will increase its invest in Pakistan; Continuously increased the building materials processing product categories, enriched the diversification of prefabricated housing products, improved product quality with advanced and green construction techniques, and accelerate the participation in the housing program in Pakistan to contribute to the accelerated economic development of Pakistan.
The convening of this summit has further consolidated the China-Pakistan friendship, effectively promoted the smooth implementation of the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project, and strengthened Henan D.R.'s determination and confidence to vigorously explore the Pakistani market.
