Recently, the main structure of the CHN ENERGY Shuangwei Power Plant Newly Built Project #2 Steel Structure Cooling Tower was successfully completed. This also marks the official completion of CHN ENERGY Inner Mongolia CHN ENERGY Shuangwei Power Plant Newly Built Project Phase I 2×1000MW Units Steel Structure Cooling Tower, which was undertaken by Henan D.R. Steel Structure of Henan D.R.
It is the second steel structure cooling tower project undertaken by Henan D.R. steel structure, higher than the Mengneng Xilin Thermal Power Plant steel structure cooling tower which is 181m high. The project consists of #1 and #2 two steel structure cooling towers. Each tower has a height of 190.2m and the diameter of the tower at bottom is 148.7m. It is currently the world's highest steel structure cooling tower. As the first 1000MW unit power plant in the world to use steel structure cooling tower, this project is the first intelligent thermal power plant nationwide based on energy big data, and the first 4×1000MW ultra-supercritical indirect air-cooling thermal power plant nationwide.
Since the start of this project, Henan D.R. has attached great importance to it. Wang Qingwei, Deputy Chairman of Henan D.R. and Chairman of Henan D.R. Steel Structure, and related departments and leaders of the Electric Power Business Department and Henan D.R. Steel Structure have gone to the site for many times to guide the work, and held special meetings to find out the important and difficult points during construction, and make suggestions for the whole process management and excellence-making.
During the construction process, the project management team and the working team fully carried forward the "iron army" spirit and brand technical advantages, and overcome many difficulties like bad weather in the northwest region, the COVID-2019 pandemic, and the inconvenience of construction in winter. They also took measures to optimize and adjust the procedures of lifting operation, and have a precise control of installation dimension deviation. These measures have effectively improved construction production efficiency and ensured the project to be put into production.
At the same time, the project team attaches great importance to the transformation of scientific and technological achievements. During the construction process, they always summarize and innovate the construction technology of large-scale steel structure cooling towers, and has successively obtained four patents, three quality management activities achievements, three scientific and technological achievements awards and one construction method. The owner, supervisor, and general contractor have spoken highly of Henan D.R.’s new technology innovation and application, refined management, and safe construction.
On the day of the completion of main structure, the CHN ENERGY Inner Mongolia Shanghaimiao Power Generation Co., Ltd. sent a letter of thanks to Henan D.R., and highly praised Henan D.R. for the successful completion of the CHN ENERGY Inner Mongolia CHN ENERGY Shuangwei Power Plant Newly Built Project Phase I 2×1000MW Units Steel Structure Cooling Tower. Henan D.R. is the only construction unit in the tender section of the whole plant that completed the major milestone as scheduled.
Next, the project team will work harder to pursue high standards and high efficiency, and meet strict demands. In the follow-up construction of the project, we will give full play to the advantages of construction technology and become more influential and competitive in the field of steel structure cooling tower production and installation. We will spare no efforts to build the Henan D.R. Steel Structure brand, and make new contributions to Henan D.R.’s high-quality development.
