On June 20, the Group Company held its 2025 on-site conference at the construction site of the Shaanxi Investment Xinfeng Energy 2×1000MW unit project, undertaken by the Chimney & Cooling Tower Construction Branch. The theme of the conference is "Putting Customers First, Seizing Opportunities, Valuing Cooperation, and Honoring Commitments to Win the Market; Strengthening Management Foundations, Pursuing Innovation, Reducing Costs, and Creating a Promising Future with Refinement and Standardization".
Zhu Jianming, the Chairman of the Group Company, Feng Zhanguang, the General Manager, along with members of the Board of Directors, the Supervisory Board, the senior management team, heads of various departments at the headquarters, and heads of affiliated units,over a hundred participants, attended the conference. The conference was presided over by Chen Jianzhong, the Deputy General Manager of the Group Company and the General Manager of the Electric Power Business Department.
In the morning, Xinfeng, which was in the midst of the rainy season, experienced a brief spell of clear weather. The attendees walked through the cultural corridor and visited several key areas in succession, including the chimney area, the cooling tower construction area, and the display zone for construction techniques, tools, and equipment. Everywhere they went, there were remarkable highlights. Innovative construction techniques were widely applied, and safe, civilized construction practices, along with standardized management, were consistently upheld, showcasing the project team's meticulous and dedicated work ethic. The Shanxi Investment Xinfeng Energy Project is a key construction project in Jiangxi Province and a "Ten, Hundred, Thousand, Ten Thousand" demonstration and leading project for 2024. It also represents a significant achievement in the "Westward Expansion and Southward Advance" plan of Shanxi Investment Group. The Chimney and Cooling Tower Construction Branch contracted to build a 240m-high chimney with a double titanium-steel composite plate inner liner and two naturally ventilated cooling towers, each standing at 208.5 m tall with a drenching area of 14,000㎡. Upon commissioning, the project will significantly enhance the power supply capacity in the southern region of Jiangxi, providing a solid guarantee for the power needs of regional industrial development and residential use.
Wang Changsheng, the Deputy Chief Engineer of the Group Company and the Project Manager of the Xinfeng Project Department, delivered a presentation and engaged in exchanges centered around the themes of "fulfilling contracts with integrity and achieving cost reduction through innovation." Representatives from Huaneng Electric Power Engineering Department, the Northwest Branch, the Ninth Project Management Department, and Fair-faced Technology Company respectively presented reports titled "Standardization, Refinement, and Consolidating Management Foundations, Comprehensive Innovation and Cost Reduction with Enhanced Efficiency," "Operating with Integrity, Providing Premium Value Services, Putting Customers First to Win Markets; Standardized Management, Cost Reduction with Efficiency Enhancement, and Expanding Brand Influence Through Meticulous Work," "Embracing Challenges with Innovative Thinking and Focusing on Development," and "Progress Report on the Implementation of Prefabrication in Electric Power Engineering." These presentations shared advanced practical experiences in project management.
The attending executives and department heads from various functional areas provided management recommendations and suggestions from multiple perspectives regarding safety, quality, cost, contract fulfillment, project completion settlement, and market expansion during the Group company's project construction. Cui Xiangjun, the Vice Chairman of the Group Company and the Manager of the Chimney and Cooling Tower Construction Branch, put forward clear requirements regarding the market situation of electric power engineering, improving on-site quality and safety control, from four aspects: "Deeply cultivate the market to expand incremental growth, tackle challenges at sites to strengthen management and control, coordinate human resources to break down barriers, and meticulously calculate costs to enhance quality and efficiency."
Feng Zhanguang, general Manager of Group Company shared his impressions from visiting the Xinfeng Power Plant Project, commending the project's achievement in unifying safety, quality, and progress targets through refined management without significantly increasing costs. The project team's continuous breakthroughs in both management and technical aspects from standardized operational procedures to technological innovation details are worthy to learn in-depth and reference by other projects. Based on current work realities, Mr. Feng proposed four requirements: Firstly, we will focus on upgrading on-site management by requiring all projects to develop client-satisfying deliverables based on client’s needs, thereby transforming on-site management effectiveness into competitive market advantages. Secondly, we will strengthen full-cycle cost control. Given manufacturing costs as a critical constraint on corporate development, we emphasize fostering a cost-conscious culture among all staff, ensuring rigorous upfront planning and flawless execution. Thirdly, we will solidify the foundation of safety production by improving long-term mechanisms, increasing investments, and fostering a safety culture to effectively mitigate various risks. Fourthly, we will accelerate project completion settlement and payment collection. Personnel of each unit must strictly adhere to the established time point and responsibility division to expedite final account settlements, ensuring timely recovery of project payments. Units that fail to make satisfactory progress will be seriously notified and held accountable.
Zhu Jianming, the Chairman of the Group Company, delivered a concluding speech. Firstly, he highly commended the significance of this on-site conference, pointing out that, as an annual management routine of the enterprise, the conference enabled participants to clarify current management requirements and systematic work standards by organizing visits to benchmark projects. It also facilitated the promotion of advanced construction techniques, contributing to the overall improvement of the company's management capabilities. As a vital component of enterprise development, cost control was emphasized by Chairman Zhu as something that must be taken seriously from the root of our thinking. He stressed the importance of formulating both short-term and medium-term plans and rigorously implementing them to achieve cost reduction through systematic approaches, thereby enhancing the enterprise's competitiveness.
When discussing the strategic layout of the market, Chairman Zhu emphasized "expanding product categories with a long-term vision, strengthening our professional brand, and steadfastly pursuing a specialized development path. At the same time, we should firmly strengthen our overseas strategic layout.
"We owe special thanks to Secretary Huang Daoyuan for reviving our overseas strategy in 2015. This decision not only injected momentum into the enterprise's current development but also secured a vast development space for all Henan D.R. employees in the future." He called on everyone to actively participate in overseas project development.
Chairman Zhu stated that the core of enterprise development relies on four key elements: engineering performance, core competitiveness, enterprise quotas (manufacturing costs), and enterprise brand. While our enterprise has a solid foundation and remarkable performance in all aspects except for manufacturing costs, which require strengthening, he encouraged everyone to confirm confident in development and steadily achieve development goals. He required all staff to strictly implement the company's systems, strengthen their sense of responsibility, and closely integrate personal growth with team building and enterprise development.
Chairman Zhu explicitly proposed to cultivate the corporate culture of integrity characterized by leading by example, treating the company as home, and managing by the rule of law. He urged leading cadres to fully play a leading role, embody corporate values through their own actions, set examples with practical deeds, and drive the enhancement of corporate cohesion and execution with an excellent corporate culture. This would inject strong spiritual momentum into the company's high-quality development, making the "integrity culture" as the core soft power that propels the enterprise forward and overcomes challenges.
This on-site conference serves not only as a systematic inspection of the project's phased achievements, but also as a strategic guidance conference for the Group Company's power engineering sector to set its direction and outline its blueprint, a thought-mobilizing conference to unite hearts and minds, and an action deployment conference to make comprehensive efforts and achieve breakthroughs in tackling challenges! The conference has forged a consensus that "customer-centricity is the foundation, management innovation is the driving force, and brand building is the goal."
