On Aug. 25, the maiden voyage and contract signing ceremony for Turkey Hunutlu 2×660MW Thermal Power Plant Project was held in Shanghai. Henan D.R. won the bid Section #4 of the project on May 5, 2019.
In the morning, leaders from State Power Investment Corporation, Shanghai Electric Power Co., Ltd., AVIC-INTL Project Engineering Company, CPI Power Engineering Co., Ltd., East China Electric Power Design Institute, Shanghai Electric Power Generation Group and other relevant units attended the ceremony. General Manager of Henan D.R., Zhu Jianming, Deputy Chairman, Cheng Cunpan, Deputy General Manager, Zhang Junfeng, and Manager of Shanghai Branch, Xing Qigang were invited to attend the meeting.
At the ceremony, Wang Yundan, Chairman of Shanghai Electric Power Co., Ltd., stated that the Turkey Hunutlu Thermal Power Project was a key project under China’s “Belt and Road” initiative and Turkey’s “Middle Corridor” initiative, and had been the project directly invested with the largest amount by Chinese company in Turkey since the two countries established diplomatic relations. It is also the first imported coal power project invested by a Chinese company in Turkey. The successful implementation of the project is of great significance for the energy cooperation between China and Turkey, as well as the operation and development of project investors and participating companies.
At the signing ceremony meeting followed, Zhu Jianming, General Manager of Henan D.R., delivered a speech. He stated that it was an honor to be invited to this contract signing and the maiden voyage ceremony for the Turkey Hunutlu 2 × 660MW Ultra-supercritical Thermal Power Plant Project. He expressed his gratitude to State Power Investment Corporation, Shanghai Electric Power Co., Ltd., CPI Power Engineering Co., Ltd. for their recognition and trust, and sincerely wished that the construction of the Turkey Hunutlu 2 × 660MW Ultra-supercritical Thermal Power Plant Project could be smoothly implemented.
Zhu said that as the construction party of this project, Henan D.R. should carry it out with great sense of responsibility. The group company has done plenty of preparation and made detailed general planning. We would make full use of our technical advantages, control process management, and draw on the company's experience of power project and overseas construction to make sure the smooth implementation of this project.
He pointed out that in the construction operations, Henan D.R.would assign experienced technical and management personnel, set up a strong project manager department to be responsible for the organization and management of the construction site, manpower, material and mechanical equipment allocation to meet the needs of the project.
The project will be commenced on Sep. 22, 2019, and will be put into operation in March 2022. After completion, the power generated will account for 4% of Turkey’s total generating capacity. It is the largest overseas power plant undertaken by Henan D.R., and is of great significance for the development of overseas business.
The section #4 of the main project undertaken by Henan D.R. includes two smoke extraction cooling towers, three euro silos, ash storage, part of coal transportation and auxiliary works, with a contract value of 630million RMB.
The holding of the maiden voyage and contract signing ceremony for Turkey Hunutlu 2×660MW Thermal Power Plant Project marks that the project has entered a substantial construction phase.
