At Turkey local time 11:18, September 11, through 12 hours continuous fighting, the concrete casting of the 1st wall slab on the 1# smoke exhaust tower wrapped up in Turkey Hunutlu Power Plant, which was undertaken by the 2nd project management department of Henan D.R.Construction Group. Li Xiaofeng, deputy director of Hunutlu Power Plant in Turkey, Miao Mengxiao, of the general contractor, and relevant leaders of the OE party were invited to participate in the concrete cast ceremony.
The smoke exhaust tower of this project is designed by Harmon (Netherlands), which is about 25m higher than the conventional cooling tower come to 175m. In addition, a glass fiber reinforced plastic flue with a diameter of 7.5m passes through the middle of the tube wall to the central shaft, which is a natural combination of smoke towers. The ventilation and smoke exhaust seawater cooling tower is difficult to construct and is considered to be one of the hardest bones in this project.
Since the casting of the first section of the smoke tower ring foundation on January 20 this year, the project department has faced multiple challenges. Due to the impact of the CPVID-19 pandemic, some managers and construction personnel cannot be mobilized on time, and the construction progress of the smoke tower has been gravely affected. Under the multiple obstacles of pandemic prevention & control and the construction personnel shortage, the project department made overall arrangements to reasonably divide the labor between 34 Chinese construction personnel and Turkish local workers. After 6 months of hard work, the cooling tower ring base, central shaft, and water inlet were successfully constructed. The construction of the pressure ditch, the foundation of the sprinkling component, and other structures below 0m has been completed, creating favorable conditions for the subsequent construction of the smoke exhaust tower herringbone column and tube wall.
On July 31st, under the coordination among the leadership of the group company, the overseas business department, the 2nd project management department and other departments, 104 heroes put themselves in harm’s way who come to Turkey smoothly, injecting new vitality into the smoke exhaust tower construction. After more than 40 days of continuous fighting, the construction of the herringbone column and the concrete casting of the 1st wall slab wrapped up. The construction quality and progress of the herringbone column and tube wall have been highly appreciated by the owner, OE and CPI units, created a solid foundation for the subsequent construction of the smoke exhaust tower.
Combined the relevant laws of Turkey, the external environment and the actual situation of the site, the project department decided to start the "prevention and control plan of normalized pandemic situation under pandemic containing" on September 18 under the unified arrangement of the owner and the general contractor. Implement the overall measures of “all local personnel will be deregulated, Chinese personnel will continue to be quarantined, and Chinese and Turkish personnel will be totally separated”, and we will do our best to ensure the safety of Chinese personnel. Under the premise of preventing and controlling the pandemic, we will ensure the completion of this year’s Mission objectives.
