At 10:18 am on January 18th, the 200-meter-high chimney steel inner tube, the highest building in Pakistan LUCKY 660MW coal-fired power plant undertaken by Henan D.R., was lifted in place. It is a major milestone in the construction of the project. To this end, the general contractor SEPCOIII sent a letter to congratulate Henan D.R. on completing the major node in a safe manner and with high quality amid the COVID-2019 pandemic.
The year 2020 has been an extraordinary year. The COVID-19 pandemic wreaked havoc around the world, and the pandemic prevention and control situation in Pakistan was very complex. Therefore, the construction site of LUCKY project was facing great challenge. However, with scientific organization and careful management, the project management team stayed united and managed to overcome a series of difficulties like lack of local materials, delayed delivery, high temperature, and staff reduction due to pandemic. While enhancing the COVID-2019 pandemic response, the project team always put safety and quality at the first place. With reasonable deployment and overtime work, several project nodes including ash storage tube wall, ash storage steel structure, chimney steel platform and chimney steel inner tube were completed with high quality and high efficiency, which has laid a solid foundation for the joint trial operation of the LUCKY project entire unit.
